I am a lifelong learner! What I mean by this is simply the fact that learning is created by doing. Since I have completed the 23 Things, I now have a personal BLOG!
Also, I might add that I have enjoyed being able to convert photo images from my cell into character sketches and post in my Blog.
Overall, learning about wikis, rss feeds, rollyo, merlin, and podcasts were interesting.
Yes, I would be interested in participating in something new in the future.

Thing #22
I already have had an Overdrive account set up about a year ago. Therefore, I chose to view the Project Gutenberg. I found the Top 100 titles to be so unique and diverse. The topics were not so much like the best seller kind.
One that I may like to try was "People's Common Sense Medical Adviser in Plain English." by Pierce, Ray Vaughn.

Thing # 19
I enjoyed looking at the Web2.0 site. I perticuarly liked and found usefullness in 2 award sites.
Real Estate- offers Zillow.com and of course for books the Librarything.com
Both are useful sites to know about in helping customers find information.

Thing 17
Well the MD libraries sandbox was a little tricky in trying to get the http url posted after a few tries it finally did work! The little world chain link was in active for a while.
Thing 16 Wiki's
I found the Wiki Slide presentation with music very helpful in providing an overview of wiki implications worldwide.
I learned that Wiki's are great for groups that already know each other or work well with a clear nucleus more likely to edit than create. Therefore, I can see wiki's evolving in the library world with a type of communication thru small groups (committee's) blogging or sharing ideas. Especially with constant change in methods of doing a task or policy.
It was very interesting to read about the ALA-2006 New Orleans Wiki page since I did not attend the conference. I also enjoyed looking at the Booklovers Wiki Team produced by Princeton Public Library sharing book reviews.

Thing #15
Now this is what I am talking about!!! Connecting with people through library services!
Library 2.0 to me is not only a term, but a concept/mindset to build and invite customers to use the library for many different things. Things such as: computers, family/teen programs, instruction to databases/catalogs, etc.
I love being able to network with students, teachers, principals and the community at large.
Building comfort and trust thru not only books and information: but creating a desire for people to come use the library!

I didn't seem to like Technorati. Blogging is not my interest at this moment. Yes, the results were different when doing a keyword search for "Learning 2.0" in blog posts and the blog directory.
What I found interesting was that Brittany Spears was listed as the #1 top searcher and top favorite blog was Boing Boing. The top blogs were "Engadget" which was new to me.
I think I had enough of Technorati for now. Time to move on.
